Guernsey Farms Dairy has been family owned and operated since 1940. Our products are made using only the finest ingredients specially formulated by founder John McGuire. Guernsey Farms Dairy Restaurant and Store are located at the same site as our dairy processing plant. Our family style restaurant specializes in broasted chicken, hearty American fare such as burgers, ground rounds, Reuben sandwiches and our scrumptious desserts made with Guernsey's award winning ice cream.

Just outside the restaurant is our carry out ice cream parlor. Here visitors can view the 48 flavors that we serve on cones everyday. Shakes, banana splits, hot fudge sundaes, brownie fudge treats and many other fountain specials are also available for carry out purchases. It is a family tradition to eat your ice cream cone out on our famous rock under the tree.

Our store carries all Guernsey milk products ranging from creamy chocolate milk to our best tasting skim milk. We also have sour cream, chip dip, orange juice and our summer favorite lemonade. Guernsey ice cream cakes and pies are great for taking home for special occasions, birthdays or just for fun. Our award winning ice cream is packaged and ready to go, just pick your favorite or be daring and try something new. A special treat available is Guernsey's own Hot Fudge.

Our history: In 1940 two farmers owned the Red Rose Dairy with some of the finest Guernsey cows in the country. It was located at 125 South Center Street in Northville. John McGuire had completed a dairy program at Michigan Agricultural College (MSU) and was looking for an opportunity to use the formula he developed to produce ice cream, chocolate milk, buttermilk, sour cream and eggnog. He was hired to run the dairy on May 5, 1940. They renamed it Guernsey Farms Dairy. For more history, click here.

	John and Pat McGuire wanted a big family and all fourteen children have had extensive work experience in the dairy.
